What ports are available for email services?

In order to accommodate a variety of email clients and operating systems (Outlook, Thunderbird, mobile devices, tablets, and cell phones including iOS, Android, Windows Mobile etc.) we provide multiple options for connecting to our email services including:

Standard/Traditional Connections:

Incoming Mail Server Setting:

Port 110 – POP3
Port 143 – IMAP

Outgoing Mail Server Setting:

Port 25 – SMTP
Port 587 – SUBMISSION/SMTP (*Requires Authentication - bypass port 25 if blocked by your ISP)

Secure SSL/TLS Connections:

Please Note: In order to access your email account using the below SSL encrypted ports, you will need to (1) Purchase and install an SSL certificate for your domain, OR (2) connect to your account using the Host Server for your Incoming and Outgoing Server Settings. The Host Server is the web server that hosts your domain, e.g. where you login for webmail: SERVERNAME.m2technology.com.

Incoming Mail Server Setting:

Port 993 – IMAPS (IMAP over SSL/TLS)
Port 995 – POP3S (POP3 over SSL/TLS)

Outgoing Mail Server Setting:

Port 465 – SMTPS (SMTP over SSL/TLS - *Requires Authentication)
