Configure Mac OS X Mail
In order to send and receive E-mail through your website hosted with M2Technology, you can configure Mac OS X Mail as your E-mail client with the following required settings. This step-by-step tutorial will demonstrate how to make the necessary changes so that you will be sending and receiving E-mail quickly and conveniently.
Start by configuring Mac OS X Mail with your new E-mail account so that Mac OS X Mail will check E-mail services hosted by M2Technology - Let's begin:
Step 1:
In Mac Mail, go to the Mail menu and click on Preferences.

Step 2:
Click the Accounts icon in the Mail Preferences window.
Step 3:
Click the + option to create a new account.

Step 4:
Select POP from the drop down menu.
Step 5:
Enter the information specific to your new email account:
- Description: Enter a description of the mail account that you would like to see
- Email Address: Enter the E-mail address that has been configured with M2Technology
- Full Name: Enter your full name
- Incoming Mail server (POP3): Enter your incoming mail server - typically mail.domainname.xyz (.com, .net, .org etc.)
- User Name: Your FULL E-mail Address will be used to log into the mail server (also used with Webmail)
- Password: Enter the password for the E-mail address that you are configuring

Step 6:
Enter the Outgoing Mail server information for your account:
- Outgoing Mail Server: Enter your Outgoing mail server - typically mail.domainname.xyz (.com, .net, .org etc.)
- Server Port: 25
- Authentication: Select the Password option from the dropdown list
- User Name: Again, this is the Full E-mail Address used to log into the mail server (also used for Webmail)
- Password: Enter the password for the E-mail address that you are configuring

Step 7 - We're Finished:
Click OK. You should now be able to send and receive E-mail using your account hosted with M2Technology.
Potential Issues:
***If you are not successful sending email, you may have to use your Internet Service Provider's Outgoing E-mail Server ("SMTP" or Outgoing Server Setting in "Step 4"). Some Intenet Service Provders (ISP) block standard SMTP service ports to prevent users from hosting email servers on their Internet connections. Please contact your Internet Service Provider in order to learn what their specific configuration settings are.
